Life of a Virgo Mummy

This boy of mine will start schooling next year as he’s going to be 4 next april. I’ve started preparing him for schooling days. When Rayyan is at school, i’ll start teaching him. It’s quite hard for me. He’s not the sit&read or sit&listen kind of boy. And worst thing, he’s left-handed. Sekejap pensel kat kiri, bila dah penat kat kanan.

Last monday, brought him to TLC. Ya, hubby second the idea of changing to another school nearby. And luckily TLC is negotiating to arrange a dedicated transporter for them u to San-Francissco Pizza (new coverage) . Thank God! My worry is now over. So, I can sleep well kan. Idlan was so happy to play with Rayyan’s friends. Good sign huh!

Oh.. on another notes, my hands are very much tied with tonnes of assignments. Next week will be my last week attending lectures …phewww…. But it’s followed by a FINAL EXAM. Still not the last exam i’ve to sit this year in GSM. The Comprehensive Exams is the toughest exam….but lets talk about it in december yah…Don’t need another stressing element in my life right now. Lets settle it one after another kan. and yeah…I’m all stressed out. Pimples/breakouts are my friend now…aduh!

Last weekend we were @ my parents place. Actually, i’d promised the boys that they’ll be there during the school holidays. But, my father was admitted @ GH due to high fever (chikukuniya ke kinokuniya ek). So, hubby asked me to postpone the plan to let my father had some rest @ home after being discharged last Tuesday. Maklumla..kalau ada my boys it will just be like another round of turbulence in the house.

Yesterday, hubby was out to tanamera for his paintball challenge. I was the one la kena layan the boys & girls.

Rayyan : Mummy! kakak kata kakak nak kawin dengan abang! (happily)

Me : Ish..takde ke girl lain bang. Nak jugak yg gumuk ni.

Rayyan : Tak nak. Nak kawin dengan kakak jugak. Nanti abang ada baby girl..

Me:  Ha? sapa yg nak bagi baby girl? mummy takde baby tau dlm perut.

Rayyan : Kakak la.. kakak kata nanti dia nak keluarkan anak.

Me: Ha? kakak mana?

Kakak : Kakak dalam bilik mummy la. Kakak rasa mcm nak keluarkan anak je nih…

With weekdays&night only-hubby , I’m the one who will bring the kids for outing while he’s away. I was not in the driving-mood last saturday. so I’ve brought the kids to experience the ride & shop cruise. It’s convenience and good experience for them. We hopped in the ferry from Komuter Jetty (opposite serdang commuter station). We cruised to Mines Shopping Center. hehehe…and the kids were so happy.

They’re still shocked. I’ve kept the plan secret until they’re there…hehe

The massage cruise by Thai Odyssey..expensive la now..RM199 per person. The price has increased. Before was RM99.

We’re going back to the jetty after having our lunch.

Yesterday, we’re at my brother just-completed-condo’s (tak ingat nama..Platinum city condo kot). We brought the kids for swimming session. First time there, we found out the facilities was so great. Large resort style swimming pool, complete with jacuzzi, kids pool and etc. The photo is still in hubby’s camera. later la… But for sure, the kids had fun last weekend!

And this week. I am a single mom. Hubby will be out of town till friday. Calling same status mum to plan for this week (i knew tina is also available…hehehe).

Idlan is another product of Gogo. I’ve introduced my kids to Gogo VCD and books since they’re babies. It started when i bought Rayyan first Gogo Set @ MPH Warehouse sale 4 years back. I treat the vcd session just like other parents (duduk, tengok, then i can do something else…hehe).But i realized that they’d learn a lot from that cd. I think it’s becoz of the repeated rythm. Idlan is learning from the CD. I can’t sit with him to teach him. he’ll get boring so fast. not even a minute. so, he learn thru Yo Gabba Gabba, Diego, Blues Clues and etc. I think disney channel is good. even Pocoyo is good. hehehe…idlan can recoqnize color easily while watching pocoyo. He’s good in recognizing simple shapes (no octagon @ pentagon la kan…jon sudah advanced). He is also able to count, but when it comes to 11 (he’ll say one-teen, two-teen, three-teen, fourteen…twenty)…but seriously, he’s not as matured as rayyan. He’ll simply say no to sit down and learn! I know the time will come, but while waiting i’ve to make his learning session attractive!

I’ve not blog about the kids for quite some times. ya.. ya.. they’d grown so fast. This entry is much on my eldest, Rayyan.

Rayyan is now able to read simple “2 patah” words. He’s done well with ba, ca, da…za . But still confuse when it comes to bi, bo, bu ….zi, zo, zu. He’ll need to take 2-3 minutes to try. The good thing is he’ll try, even salah pun he’ll try again. Good. His teacher told me not to worry with that. She told me that when he mastered that stage, he’ll read so fast. I hope so. I’ve joined a session on Reading thru phonics organized by his school, Little Caliphs sometime last January. They keep on reminding that don’t teach them spelling at this stage. Why? Becoz, spelling will come at the later stage. They will sure get confused as the “mazhab” is not the same.

The school is teaching phonics. They’re using Bacalah Anakku Program -Siri Cepat Membaca Bacalah Anakku for BM, Early Reading Series ReadEasy Phonics for English and Siri Cepat Membaca Al-Quran Al-Furqan. There is no spelling in phonics. No a,b,c. There’s only sounds of A, B –pronounce as beh, and c – pronounced as ceh …How busy i am, i’ll try my best to spend at least 5 minutes to revise with Rayyan every night. Anyway, sometimes i’ll give him some kelonggaran la, normally on Saturday.

The reading series.

He does learn a lot in his spiritual development as well. He’s now able to recite few doa (s.a. doa sebelum & selepas makan, doa keluar rumah, doa masuk tandas ), he can now hafal al-fatihah, 3 qul and also perfom solat. He knew how many raka’at for each solat. We’re so happy with his achievements.

As for other activities, he really enjoys drawing, painting, and art and craft activities at home and in school. I’ve also give him some opportunity to join me decorating cupcakes. He’ll always place an order when he feels like he wants to ice (boleh tak mcm nih…mentang2 mak enjoy baking).

Yes. We watch Kung Fu Panda Last Night @ GSC Alamanda.

Yes. The tickets were sold out (GSC opened 2 halls for the show)

Yes. The kids were in so much fun.

Yes. They stayed put for the first 45 minutes …or isit just 45 sec??

Yes. They started their own kung fu the other 45minutes.

Yes. They waived good night on our way back..(penat kungfu kot)

Yes. Today they start their day with kungfu.

Overall, the movie is good but it’s lacking of musical scene that can capture my kids attention. The kids are still in love with Alvin & The Chipmunk!

I can’t recall when Rayyan starts to show interest on signboards. Every time we went to pour petrol he’ll definitely read to us the 3 signs displays at the pump station, which is :

1. No key here. – actually stands for turn off your car engine
2. No fire here. – actually means no smoking, he don’t know what is rokok so he’s still purify baby ..hehe
3. No handphone here. – this one he get it right since the 1st time

ANd just now he was doing his masterpiece while i was doing my study paper ….

Rayyan : “Mummy, ni kan no internet here”

Me: “Heh? Waaa…clever boy”

( OMG i did’nt teach him networking and he draws like he’s a CISCO certificate handler..;) )
